• Selected from the Ackerman Tapes archive, here is a classic example of the JAPT concerts, the series first promoted by Norman Grantz in 1944.  

• Featuring some of the great names in jazz including Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson Trio, Modern Jazz Quartet, Stan Getz, Sonny Stitt, Dizzy Gillespie and others performing in their normal lineups as well as part of ensembles put together informally for the concert tours. 

• First-ever release of this excellent quality live recording. A rare opportunity to hear previously unheard performances.
