Johnny Hodges and His Strings Play the Prettiest Gershwin好久沒有聽這張，這兩天聽來覺得甜美異常，昨天晚上跑步跑到一半，部分的路燈及紅綠燈都因815台灣大停電而受影響，不敢硬跑，只得邊跑邊走，安全第一。
以前寫過 Jazz Giants with Strings 這一系列的唱片，詳可見。這一系列特點，當然就是大師跟弦樂的演出，有陣子聽起來，覺得很不對味(因為我不太喜歡弦樂或大樂團伴奏的爵士樂)，不過這一系列多數唱片，都屬罕見盤。
這張 CD 的錄音很好，音色相當飽滿，不管是弦樂一片片的美感，及最重要 Johnny Hodges 的銅管，飽滿得很，尤其他薩克斯風尾音的韻味，補捉得相當好，第一曲的 Love is Here to Stay，在鋼琴聲彈起時，更是高潮，整個甜得不得了，總共12軌，只有3軌超過3分鐘，其他都不到3分鐘，這樣的長度，真是剛剛好，因為長度再長一點，就甜得過膩了，第4曲的 summertime，詮釋得很好，有點點那麼哀傷，卻令人回味再三，Horst Jankowski 的鋼琴彈得美極了，很芭樂的專輯，不過卻好聽！這個原來的包裝，真是令人有點眼花繚亂！
